EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

David Frank is a professor of rhetoric in the Robert D. Clark Honors College and oversees the University of Oregon’s Forensics program. Professor Frank is the author of three books and many articles on intercollegiate debate and individual events speaking. In these works, he emphasizes the connections between forensics and the liberal arts tradition. His students have won many championships in collegiate competitions.
CAMP DIRECTORS:

Aaron Donaldson is the Director of Intercollegiate Forensics and head coach of the University of Oregon forensics team. The U of O team won the Pacific North West region between 2006 and 2007 and last year ranked 11th in the country in season sweepstakes calculated by the National Parliamentary Debate Association. The Ducks have qualified the maximum of 4 teams to the National Parliamentary Tournament of Excellence each of the last two years, and currently have a team ranked 9th in the nation.
Aaron competed in LD in high school, twice reaching Montana state finals, ultimately taking first in 1999. As a collegiate competitor, he won multiple open division tournaments and speaker awards and ended his senior year ranked in the top 20 nation wide. Aaron was recognized as the 12th speaker overall at the 2003 National Parliamentary Debate Association Nationals tournament. He is a three-time National Individual Events quarter finalist, advancing in Impromptu and DUO interpretation. Aaron capped of his collegiate career by recieving the 2003 Coaches Commemorative Award, recognizing the top overall competitor in the North West Forensics Conference.
In 2006, Aaron and partner Jason Lear became the first representatives of an American public university to advance into out rounds at the World Universities Championship tournament, ultimately reaching semi-finals. He has coached successful competitors in all events for close to 10 years at the high school and college levels.
